|sunset across towards the city|
|Guests sip cocktails|
A day's work and outside the temperature is 32 degrees. The beach is a mere 5 minutes walk to the sea
Water temperature 28 degrees for a dip before supper, before me sunset that familiar milky cityscape. Tall towers reach up through the haze.
Inside, amongst the parlour palms and rattan furniture, guests sip cocktails and mollify their offspring.
Next day heading out to the airport home, at silly o'clock in the morning, these impossible and improbable towers of this lovely city are sprayed gold by the sun.
Dubai remains fascinating, full of concrete and hope.
