Happisburg Beach on New Years Day 2015 |
Our 2015 started with us being lucky enough
to stay with friends Richard and Fiona in North Norfolk just inland from the
village of Happisburgh (pronounced ‘Haze-borough’).
Part of the village is
precariously perched on the low cliffs of coast. It regularly experiences severe erosion; houses that were once little more than thirty from the water's edge now cling on and may later fall into the sea.
However the broad beach beneath the cliffs provides a brisk long walk, fringed by the North Sea and buffeted by winds from the east.
Rain or
shine it is a place to get real fresh air and clear the brain ready for the
year ahead.
