The Christmas Rose
All is pale,
elegant long stems almost translucent
With bright green leaves outspread.
Anemone-like flowers that keep coming
Long after the 12thnight and well into Epiphany.
Buds keep coming and stalks gangling,
like awkward adolescent limbs.
