The name "Bellevue" is French for "beautiful
view”.
In 2014, Bellevue was ranked as the second best place to
live by USA Today.
Bellevue is a place of tall towers of glass and steel.
I was out early one morning as the sun was just starting to
come up and touch these tall towers.
And there nestled, perhaps crouching,
amongst the corporate barbicans was a Church and outside it two travellers
sitting on a fire hydrant waiting to enter.
It was the First Congregational Church, and an exciting
counterpoint to the commercial fortifications and shopping malls. See more on http://www.fccbellevue.org
God Bless America. You've never seen it until you have seen it.
Very nice, and particularly timely. Soon, we'll be leaving this location where the church has stood for more than 100 years to move a few blocks away to a modern, renovated building. Still downtown, but not quite as in the center of things. Thank you for sharing your drawing of it, it really does catch the essence of how it feels to be at BFCC in the midst of the corporate and shopping "madness" that is modern downtown Bellevue!
