5 DRAWINGS 5 DAYS Drawing 1

Day 1

The sunset makes the darks darker everything else is red, copper or gold. A couple walking towards the top of the ridge, they exchange greetings with Rosie and me. So minutes they make a hurried appearance top right.

March 3 - 7
Here's the deal:
Wild drawing, constant equipment failure, use stuff from the hedgerow to apply ink. Engage with passers by and Rosie talks to other dogs
Add narrative and colour back in the studio, end of each day.

WISLEY WITH THE WORLD AND HIS WIFE

Just off the M25 is Wisley.

It is the home of the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Gardens.

Outside the Shop and Coffee shop we meet old friends Simon and Margaret.

Most of Surrey and a large portion of posh south London had the same idea to visit Wisley, as it was the first sunny Saturday for a long time.

The River Wey (as in Weybridge) runs through the village and we retired to another throng at a local pub right on the river, the Anchor at Pyrford (pear tree ford) and joined the balance of Surrey in the pub or by the water’s edge.

All very jolly, with one neat and orderly queue to buy one’s beer.

DUNCHURCH AGAIN

Dusk, soon after six,
My third visit for work.

Dusk, soon after six,
Lights inside shine out,
A terrace and steps down to the lawns
Merge with the shrubbery
All turns purple green.
A blackbird scuttles away clucking,
A moorhen sounds on the lake behind me.
I discover more each trip.

Next day, late afternoon the rain shines upon the flag stones,
Portico entrance to the terrace
And behind what must have been a kitchen garden?
Here now is pitched a huge plastic marquee

To house the wedding parties from Birmingham.

WOOBURN The rhythm of low hills

I never tire of this view
West toward the hills behind Wooburn
Out of M40 earshot
There is a rhythm made by the contours and the last crops
A footpath diagonal across I the slopes show white like a girdle

Looking back to when I last drew it on Christmas Day.

Looking forward to making into a piece of print making.
